love it

love it: montmartre et l'ile saint-louis {paris day 2}

Another fabulous (and exhausting) day! I walked from my apartment in the 1st arrondisement all the way to Sacre-Coeur, stopping all along my route to shop and snap photos. What a view from the top! It was well worth the climb.

I walked all around Montmartre-- what a beautiful place! The narrow streets, the creperies, sidewalk cafes, street artists... I loved it. I got a crepe and a soda and just sat on a curb soaking up the view. I really am smitten with Paris.

I also saw quite a few of Invader's pieces along my travels today-- I was amped!

I stopped home to drop off all of my bags and to write on the lock that I bought this morning. Yesterday I saw all of the locks on the bridge to Ile Saint-Louis and wanted to add my own. Couples write their names or initials on the padlocks, then either toss the key into the Seine as a sign of undying love, or keep the key to unlock it next time they're in Paris. I bought a lock today that came with 3 keys-- perfection! I wrote our initials on it, locked it to the bridge facing Notre Dame, and dropped one of the keys in the river. I have 2 keys left, one for me and I'll give one to my bf when I get home. <3

After adding my lock to the bridge, I kept walking over to Ile Saint-Louis. I had heard that Berthillon ice cream was the best in Paris. I got a cone and walked back along the Seine, snapping some pictures of Paris la nuit.

Bonne nuit! x
