la seine et la tour eiffel {paris day 1}

I arrived in Paris at noon after taking the Eurostar train from London this morning. A quick ride on the metro and a few blocks walk and I had arrived at the fabulous apartment I'm renting in the 1st arrondisement, 5 minutes walk from Pont Neuf and Notre Dame.

I made some tea and toast and sat in this cute little window and did some catching up with emails and friends before heading out the walk around. I made a bee-line for the Seine and walked along the bank, criss-crossing back and forth over the bridges, snapping pics of absolutely everything. I was pretty amped when I got my first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.

I walked past the Louvre and through the Jardin Tuileries (and stopped there for a lil picnic), before getting to the Eiffel Tower.

The line to go to the top was bananas, so I'll try again later in the week. I took tons of pictures while I was there though...

I want this latticework made into a tattoo somehow... that might be a project for me later in the week. I've gotten into the habit of collecting tattoos as vacation souvenirs.

I zigzagged my way back to my apartment, passing by Notre Dame, farmers markets, storefronts, cafes, public art, flowers and street musicians. I LOVE Paris!
